Arabic language documentary follows a group of Emirati students partaking in the UAE Youth Ambassador program, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed forces.
Abu Dhabi, September 15, 2016: UAE Youth Ambassadors, a documentary that captures the experiences of Emirati students as they travel abroad as part of the UAE Youth Ambassador Program, will air this week.
The show, produced by Image Nation Abu Dhabi, one of the leading media and entertainment companies in the Middle East, documents the journey of 52 young Emirati university students from a range of leading UAE institutions as they embark on a cultural exchange.
The program, which follows the students to South Korea, China and Germany, will first air on Emarat TV on September 16, followed by additional screenings on Abu Dhabi TV and on free-to-air Pan-Arab channel, Quest Arabiya.
Abdulla Abdulrahman AlHashemi, an Emirati student from Zayed University, who travelled to South Korea with the program, said: “The program offered me a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent my country and build relationships with people I wouldn’t have normally had the chance to meet.
“Now that my journey, as well as that of my peers, is documented on film, I look forward to reliving the experience again with my family and friends in the hope that we can all take something away from this opportunity.”
The UAE Youth Ambassador program began in 2012 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed forces.
The program aims to drive the nation’s youth to new avenues of leadership, enhancing their understanding of bilateral relations between the UAE and partnering countries. It also helps to prepare participants to take positions in key Government sectors by enhancing their leadership skills and the students’ experience outside the UAE.
UAE Youth Ambassadors captures the students’ experiences over three weeks for a 45- minute documentary. The participants’ trips include language training, government study tours, industry tours and insights into local customs and cultures.
Michael Garin, CEO of Image Nation Abu Dhabi said: “We’re delighted to work again with the UAE Youth Ambassadors Program to produce another outstanding documentary that brings to life the work of the government in a unique and relatable format.
“The production mirrors the incredible personal journeys and steep periods of growth these students go through under the UAE’s leadership. Image Nation is committed to not only growing Emirati talent through its various film programs, but it also committed to creating original content for the region that reflects these untold stories, and how these stories are changing the way we view the UAE and its culture.”
UAE Youth Ambassadors will air on Emarat TV on Friday, September 16 at 18.00 KSA Time, followed by Abu Dhabi TV on September 20, 21.30 KSA time, and then on Quest Arabiya on Saturday October 1, 20:30 KSA Time.
