#SUPPORTARABCINEMA CAMPAIGN GOES GLOBAL

European launch at the esteemed Berlinale Film Festival 2016

The #SupportArabCinema campaign goes global with the European launch at the esteemed Berlinale Film Festival 2016.

The hugely successful Support Arab Cinema social action campaign, first launched at Dubai International Film Festival, is set to make its international debut at the 46th Berlinale Film Festival with an event co-hosted by Image Nation and the UAE Embassy in Germany.

Arab films will be a large focus at Berlinale this year with over ten screenings of films and documentaries financed by UAE film funds such as TwoFour54, SANAD and DIFF’s ENJAAZ.

Highlights include In the Last Days of the City directed by Egyptian Tamer El Said and A Maid for Each from director Maher Abi Samra, a heart-wrenching story of the domestic helper system in Lebanon. His Excellency Ambassador Aljunaibi will be joined by #SupportArabCinema ambassador’s Zinzana director Majid Al Ansari and The Idol producer Ali Jaafar, who will host Arab filmmakers and industry decision-makers from around the world.

Whether a regular fan of Arab films or viewing them for the first time, festival goers are encouraged to show support at Berlinale and for the Arab Film industry as a whole, by uploading their thoughts and pictures to social media and using the hashtag #SupportArabCinema.

The initiative will help to bolster Arab and European cultural exchange and continues the mission to build a successful and sustainable film industry in the region.
