• MENACE will be the third installment from the Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Abu Dhabi partnership, following breakout-hit horror Late Night With the Devil and critically-acclaimed thriller Watcher.

Academy-Award winning Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Roy Lee and Steven Schneider’s genre label Spooky Pictures, today announce the third feature film under their multi-picture slate deal with sci-fi horror Menace. Directed by Randall Okita (IFC Midnight’s See For Me), the film stars Isabel May (1883) who also serves as an executive producer on the film via her banner Una Vaca Productions.

AGC International, the international sales arm of Stuart Ford’s powerhouse indie studio AGC Studios will show international buyers first footage from the film at the upcoming Cannes market which recently wrapped production in Canada.

Menace follows the box office success of Image Nation and Spooky Pictures’ first two productions – Watcher, the critically acclaimed thriller directed by Chloe Okuno and micro budget Late Night with the Devil, the horror smash-hit which became IFC Films’ highest-grossing opening weekend ever, approaching $10M at the US box office.

May stars as a research student who has a psychotic breakdown and is remanded to the custody of her aunt and uncle in a small town. When strange things start happening around her and people start disappearing, she isn’t sure what is real or what is her imagination.

Menace is written by Thom Eberhardt (Night of the Comet) and is produced by Spooky Pictures’ Roy Lee (Barbarian) and Steven Schneider (Insidious), Image Nation’s Derek Dauchy (Late Night with the Devil), with Daniel Ostroff (The Missing), William Woods (The Kid Detective) and Maddy Falle (DADA). Additional executive producers include Ben Ross, Rami Yasin, Tom Spriggs and AGC’s Stuart Ford.

Rising star Isabel May can most recently be seen starring in 1883 for Paramount+, a prequel to the hit show Yellowstone, and the Apple TV WWII dramatic series, Masters of the Air. She also stars opposite Jenny Slate and Charlie Day in Amazon’s rom-com I Want You Back.
