SPECIAL EVENT FOR HE NAMED ME MALALA IN WASHINGTON DC

Film is screened at VIP event and special Q&A co-hosted by the UAE Embassy to the US

He Named Me Malala has had its Washington DC premiere at a special VIP event at the National Geographic Museum.

Malala herself was seen on screen as she gave an introduction to the film.

Following the screening, a Q&A session was co-hosted by the UAE Embassy to the US, and His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador to the US. This included Director Davis Guggenheim, President of the Malala Fund Meighan Stone, and Producer Walter Parks.

The film is due in cinemas across the US on October 2. It will be released in the UAE in November.

He Named Me Malala is being released by Fox Searchlight Pictures, in association with Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Participant Media and National Geographic Channel. The documentary was produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald under their long-term partnership with Image Nation, and also produced by director Davis Guggenheim.
