PUBLIC VOTE TO DECIDE NEW ARABIC TV PRESENTER

Quest Arabiya ask the region to choose their favourite Quest for Talent host

Abu Dhabi, January, 2016: The Quest for Talent continues as viewers are invited to vote for their preferred TV presenter for Quest Arabiya’s original programs.

Quest Arabiya, a new free-to-air, factual entertainment Arabic TV channel, launched their ‘Quest for Talent’ initiative in June 2015 across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), in a bid to find potential TV personalities to appear on their new channel.

More than 1,000 budding TV stars sent applications from across the region and the huge list of entries has been whittled down to the nine remaining finalists.

Now, the exciting new channel is giving its viewers the power to decide who they want to see on the screen in the future by opening up an online vote, which will see two of the lucky applicants, one male, one female, kick start their TV career with a presenting role on an up and coming original program.

Previous TV presenting experience was not needed and applications were invited from men and women aged 18 to 40 from every corner of the MENA region. The shortlist of contestants consists of males and females from ages 20 to 31 from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan and Sudan.

The channel, which launched early December 2015, was particularly interested in people who display an interest in any of Quest Arabiya’s main programming genres: adventure and survival, motoring, engineering, wildlife, history, people and places, science, crime and magic.

The shortlisted applicants can currently be seen presenting one-minute fact based info-bites on the channel regarding some of its key genres.

Carl von Doussa, General Manager of Quest Arabiya said: “The channel is accessible to 320 million people in 45 million households in 22 countries so we wanted to ensure that our presenters are representative of that audience.

“We have been promoting the competition in all these countries to ensure we have as many nationalities as possible represented on the shortlist, but we also wanted to know who the audience want to see on their screens, therefore we are delighted to open it up to a public vote.

“It is now the opinion of the Quest Arabiya viewers that counts as they are encouraged to vote for their favourite presenter. We’ve begun a social media competition whereby the public watch the participants in action and decide who deserves the winning position and a role with Quest Arabiya to present the 2016 info-bytes”
