LEADING FEMALE STORYTELLERS PARTICIPATE IN IMAGE NATION’S #SHETOLDME PANEL AT LA FILM FESTIVAL

Panel discusses women storytellers changing the narrative

As part of LA Film Festival’s Diversity Speaks events, Image Nation held a panel discussion on Women Storytellers Changing the Narrative – Globally.

 

The event saw Image Nation’s Head of Marketing and Communications / Documentary and Factual Entertainment, Danielle Perissi, joined on stage by Teri Schwartz Dean of UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television; Haifaa al-Mansour (Wadjda); LA Film Festival filmmaker Vashti Anderson (Moko Jumbie) and Valerie Red-Horse (Mankiller); and Film Independent’s Global Media Maker Fellow Lara Saba.

 

The panel explored issues facing women storytellers and some methods for confronting those issues, as well as how these women are working together to achieve gender balance in global media.
