The course will teach young Emirati students the essence of filmmaking

Outreach for the brand-new AFS Young Filmmakers program has begun this week, with Image Nation and partner NYU Abu Dhabi visiting schools in Abu Dhabi accompanied by previous participants who undertook the taster course in New York in 2015.

As part of the roadshow, tutors of the AFS program will be giving high school students a taste of what to expect on the course whilst the alumni will be sharing highlights of their experience. Image Nation and NYU Abu Dhabi will continue to visit several schools across the Emirate over the coming weeks.

The course open to 14-16 year old Emirati students will take place on the new NYU Abu Dhabi campus from July 10-28 and aims to teach youngsters the essence of filmmaking, taught by the region’s best industry professionals. Throughout the three-week workshop students will learn how to direct and produce their own 3-minute film.
