IMAGE NATION ABU DHABI PARTNERS WITH NEW YORK UNIVERSITY TO DEVELOP ASPIRING EMIRATI FILMMAKERS IN HIGH SCHOOL

This year, Emirati high school students will be given the chance to travel to New York City for a summer program taught at one of the top film schools in the world. Sponsored by Image Nation Abu Dhabi in association with NYU Abu Dhabi and the renowned NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, the first-time initiative is part of the company’s efforts to boost the growing UAE film industry.

The two-week program, open to Emiratis between 16 to 18 years old, begins at the end of July.  Coursework will be comprised of traditional classes combined with more experiential workshops. By the end of the intensive program, participants will have made a short film, using state-of-the-art equipment under the guidance of the university’s industry-leading faculty.

Budding Emirati filmmakers will spend a summer at the vibrant NYU Tisch campus in the heart of New York, learning from leading industry experts and developing exciting projects with peers from around the world.”

Participants will also have the chance to enjoy the culture of New York City, with opportunities to attend Broadway shows, film screenings, art exhibitions and other cultural activities provided by NYU’s Undergraduate Film and TV department.  Students will be chaperoned at all times.
