Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Spooky Pictures’ supernatural horror film Late Night with the Devil comes to cinema screens in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
Starring David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Oppenheimer), the film is set in 1977 and follows the story of a charismatic late night talk show host, whose live broadcast unexpectedly unleashes evil into living rooms across America. The film received rave reviews from top critics around the world, holding a score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossing $14million at the global box office.

The film was written, directed and edited by Australian filmmakers Cameron and Colin Cairnes (100 Bloody Acres, Scare Campaign), and it was produced by Derek Dauchy, Mat Govoni, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, Adam White, John Molloy and David Dastmalchian for Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Spooky Pictures, Future Pictures and Good Fiend Films.
Spooky Pictures co-productions provide training opportunities for local filmmakers to work on international productions, cementing Image Nation’s role in developing the regional film industry. Interns who worked on Late Night with the Devil and Watcher have now gone on to find full time employment within Image Nation’s development teams and/or paid placements on other local productions.
Late Night with the Devil premiered at SXSW and became a fan favorite at various film festivals, including Fantasia Festival in Montreal, Sydney Film Festival, BIFAN in Korea, Sitges, London Film Festival, and Toronto After Dark, to name a few. The film also received various accolades, winning Best Screenplay at Sitges Film Festival, and was highly recognized at Toronto After Dark, where it was awarded Best Feature Film and Best Lead Performance for Dastmalchian.
The film was released across theaters in the region on August 1st.
