This heartwarming, family-friendly comedy follows a young Saudi-Emirati couple and their three unruly children on a rollercoaster of a vacation at Warner Bros. World and the WB Abu Dhabi Hotel on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island. As everything starts to go wrong on this holiday adventure, laughter, chaos, and unexpected friendships ensue, as they learn what it means to be a family.
Al Eid Eiden was written, directed and produced by a team of talented Emirati women, embodying Image Nation’s mission to create opportunities for Arab filmmakers and storytellers to develop authentic and relatable productions. The team behind Al Eid Eiden includes the award-winning director Maitha Alawadi (X, Charlie, Nour) in her first feature length project, Rawia Abdulla (Amal’s Cloud, Contact Line) as producer, and Sara Al Sayegh as the scriptwriter. The film was shot across Abu Dhabi including Yas Island Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s leading leisure and entertainment destination, including attractions such as Warner Bros. World™ Yas Island, The WB™ Abu Dhabi, the world’s first Warner Bros. themed hotel, and Yas Mall.
The film stars Emirati actress Meera Almidfa (The Monster) as a mother trying to retain her independence and dreams while caring for her family; Saudi actor Fahad Al Butairi (The Office, Alkhallat, From A to B, Rashid and Rajab) as a workaholic father learning to show his loving side; and Abdulmajeed Fahad, Layla Fahad, and Abdulmohsen Al Harbi as their high-spirited children: mischievous Ali, headstrong Mariam, and shy Mohamed; the baby of the family. The film also features Shadi Alfons (Ramy, Rashid & Rajab) and Hassan Rajab Alhammadi.
The film is set for a wide theatrical release across the UAE, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the wider Gulf on July 11th, via Front Row’s newly-founded label Haywire Pictures, which focuses on the distribution of mainstream titles.
