Maitha Al Khayat is one of UAE’s most prolific Emirati children’s illustrators and writers. She is a Board Member at the UAE Board of Books for Young People (UAEBBY) and an Ambassador of the Emirates Literature Festival. She has published 170 books and received multiple awards, such as Best Book in the Children’s Forum, Riyadh 2011, for My Own Special Way and Best Children’s Book at the Publisher’s Forum, Sharjah 2016 for Turn Off the Lights.
