Born in Comoros and raised in Dubai, Alawi Shareef graduated with Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication, Advertising and Journalism at Punjab Technical University in India. Later he pursued a Diploma in Cinema at the Asian Academy of Film and Television in New Delhi before returning to Dubai to work in the media industry. Jumaa and Hakim is his debut film.
