Mr. Al-Mazrouei is Chairman of Abu Dhabi Media Company and currently guiding the company’s strategy to become a worldwide leader in the production of media content. Mr Al-Mazrouei is also chairman of imagenation abu dhabi, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Media Company, which will develop, finance and produce full length feature films and digital content for Arabic and global markets.
In addition to his leadership roles in the media sector, Mr. Al-Mazrouei is the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage, a government body responsible for preserving the emirate’s heritage and establishing Abu Dhabi as a global cultural capital.
Mr. Al-Mazrouei has combined the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Media Company and the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage to establish a unique cultural and media programme for the largest emirate in the UAE.
Over a short period of time, Mr. Al-Mazrouei helped transform the Abu Dhabi TV satellite channel into a cultural and intellectual phenomenon, placing it among the top five Arab satellite channels. Mr. Al-Mazrouei’s respect for poetry also led to the launch of two of the most successful television programs in the Arab World; ‘Million’s Poet’ dedicated to Nabti poetry and ‘Prince of Poets’ for classical poetry, both of which attract tens of millions of viewers.
Mr. Al-Mazrouei holds a Bachelors degree in Public Administration from the UAE University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Portland, United States. He has devoted much of his professional life to public service, with a special focus on the education sector in the UAE. |
| Edward Borgerding, CEO, Abu Dhabi Media Company |

A veteran media professional with extensive experience in managing and operating international media companies, Edward Borgerding joined ADMC in 2007 as CEO.
Prior to joining ADMC, Borgerding was Executive Vice-President of Walt Disney International in Hong Kong. During his tenure, Borgerding oversaw the operating units of the Walt Disney Company in the Asia Pacific region, including India and the Middle East. This included activities related to television, home video, consumer products, internet, theatrical distribution and Disney Channels.
Borgerding has also produced, ’Wolverine and the X-Men’, a 26 episode animated television series together with Marvel Productions and First Serve Toonz which was completed in 2007.
In 1995, Borgerding established the first Disney Channel outside the U.S., in Taiwan. In 1997 he opened the Disney Channel in UAE and another in Australia. He also established the first television offices for Disney in both India and China.
Borgerding began his career in the Disney Studios in Burbank, California in theatrical distribution and marketing, before moving to London in 1984. |
